A Resilient Urban Future: The 5-Minute Walk City Revolution
In this context, a profound diversification and decentralization of essential services, such as shops, healthcare centers, educational, and cultural facilities, is proposed within these areas. These services are implemented through a participatory decision-making process, with a strong awareness of the local community, aiming to prevent phenomena such as gentrification and inequality in neighborhoods.
Decentralization and Sustainability: The 15-Minute City as a Model of Inclusive Community
In addition to the decentralization of services, the project is committed to promoting local food and energy production. Public buildings and public green spaces are designed to serve as catalysts, simultaneously promoting sustainable energy production and urban agriculture.
The active participation of the community is crucial for the success of this approach. The constant encouragement and involvement of the community in the decision-making process and the management of local resources contribute to creating a more resilient, sustainable, and inclusive urban fabric. This model not only reflects the values and needs of the people who inhabit it but also aspires to be an inspiring example for other communities, encouraging them to pursue similar solutions for a fairer and more harmonious urban future.
